How to out a speeding ticket in Georgia?

About a month ago I got pulled over for going 71 on a 55 in Georgia. (16 over). I was late getting home one night, sped up to pass someone in the right lane, and crossed over. I just recently got my court date and a fine of 125. I’m going to have to ask to reschedule my court date because I will be away, but I am definitely planning on showing up. This should put two points on my license, but I’ve been driving for a little less than 6 months and want to do everything possible to get those points off. Any suggestions of what to do, or comments of experience?
There’s always the chance of the police officer not showing up, but I’d rather not depend on that.
Someone also told me I can talk to him before we go into court, and he might reduce my speed to 15 mph over. If he did, I wouldn’t have two points put on my license. But, I’m also not sure if I can talk to him before hand.

you will be very lucky to ‘get away’ with this. The police officer WILL turn up and you will be fined…you will, too, almost certainly get the 2 points on your licence.

One thing to try? Say your speedometer is reading a couple of miles per hour under what it should…you MAY get away with the 15 mph and not the 16 mph. May?

However, when you think about it this is not much of a defence, and could get you in deeper trouble with the law. In effect you would be saying ‘Look I know I was speeding, but I thought I was only doing 15 mph over the limit, not 16mph.’

That makes it sound as if you deliberately went over the limit and make a habit of doing it ‘just inside the cut-off’ point for licence points. If you were the judge, how would you feel about someone like that?

I think the best thing to do is accept the fine and the points and when you are in a 55mph limited area do 55mph at the most. NOT 70, 71 or any speed over the posted limit.

You’ll get there almost as quickly (I bet you weren’t early on your trip when you got the citation) and you will get there more safely, as will all the other road users.

Sorry not to be of much help, but then, I wasn’t the one speeding, was I?

Talking to the officer is unlikely to result in a change of his evidence, but if he really likes you you may be successful. (don’t hold your breath!)

I married a military man and life isnt easy being with a military man. They are gone alot. You have to have an enormous amount of trust and patience to live about 50% of the time without your spouse. As far as sex, sex is what you make it. Do you expect any man, regardless of his career choice to do all the work? My husband has an incredible body, he works for it, to stay in shape for fitness evaluations. I was also in the military, and until I met my husband, i had my fair share of experiences with military men, some not all, are “players”. One of the military mans sayings goes like this, “Theres a woman at every port” So, be cautious, these men are mostly fresh out of highschool, first time away from home, have a new sense of freedom and dont want to be tied down for the simple fact they know that when duty calls, they have to go and no woman can do anything to change that. Try for yourself, i am sure there are military bases in NJ.

The reason is, after 2 days on a personals site, a women is going to be overwhelm with responses by men. Many will be desperate men. Alot of them will be scum of the earth. If you are a decent guy and meet up to some of the minimum requirements, I would go for it. One word of caution, Don’t tryto put on that you are something you are not. It will show up in most cases right there between the lines. No matter what a woman says she is looking for in a man, I can say, without a doubt, the number 1 trait that will get her is honesty.

Irish guys drink drink drink and drink more. ALL of them. It’s what they do for fun. American guys go skating and to the drive in and they play mini golf or take you to dinner… irish guys don’t.

About the news papers, I think if a sim has a mean personality they will steal papers, or if the old guy has a bad relationship with one of the people in the house, he’ll come round and steal the newspaper.
