How did scholars date the early books of the bible?

Did the use carbon dating methods on the earliest works? Or did they use some other methodology?

Personally, I’m just not into that, but I have a few friends who are in successful relationships/marriages who met their significant others online. If you are thinking about joining a dating site, I would suggest something like eHarmony. This site is pretty safe, and it goes into great depths in finding people you are compatible with.

Is interracial dating really against the bible?

I have been dating a black guy for a few months. He’s one of the nicest and polite men I have ever dated. I recently told my mom about him. She flipped out and told me its against the bible to date other races. She said its frowned upon by the world and she wont talk to me until i date someone of my color. Is it really against the bible?? And what is your opinion of interracial dating?

I doubt it, but then I haven’t been looking for any verses either.

The only thing the Bible says is to marry someone of your own faith (and I could quote the verse to you, but I’m too lazy to find it)

Ask your mom to show you specifically in the Bible where it either implies or specifically says interracial marriage (since that’s what dating is supposed to lead to) is forbiidden.

Question about dating the gospels? (repost)?

This question is for christians who claim the gospels were all written before the destruction of the temple.

I am not wanting to debate when they were written as I have done a substantial amount of reading on the subject and have formed my own opinions.

I have seen many chrstian sites that give arguments for a later dating but have never seen a secular site which claims an early dating. If they were written early should I not be able to find at least one secular site?

My question is can anyone provide me with a secular web site or article that claims an early writing?

Cricket -there are many many secular bible scholars, most are christian but there are lots who are not.

This is a very interesting question. I can assure you, I AM searching for one.

The problem is that the majority of biblical scholars are religious, so one generally won’t find too many secular biblical scholars to begin with.

But I’ll look anyway. This might take awhile.

The fact is though, that most scholars do give an earlier date for the composition of the books of the New Testament, whether they’re secular or not. I’ll see if I can’t find some articles. I’ll be back.

For the record, I realize these probably aren’t what you’re looking for. The problem is, there’s no such thing as a nonbiased source. Take each of the ones I posted with a grain of salt, and research them. Test them. See if they’re true. Whether they’re “biased” or not doesn’t matter. What matters is whether or not they’re the truth.

If you are really interested, try the book The World That Perished(I think it is on Amazon). It gives a long science-based explanation that you are free to not agree with.It is too long to explain here, but it covers carbon dating and other ways to arrive at the age of the earth. Mostly though, it helps to see things from another point of view. I am not am not a scientist, so I can only tell you to read the book.

Are there bible verses about having a relationship with Christ before dating boys?

Hi, I have been a Christian since I was very little. For a school paper, I have decided to write about why I choose to have a strong and firm relationship with Christ before I date anyone. However, I can’t seem to find bible verses that relate to having a relationship with God before dating or getting married. Do you know of any?

Well God does tell us to put our relationship with Him before ALL other things including relationships. Seek first His kingdom, and all else is secondary. If you live your daily life with everything that Jesus taught us always taking precedence over everything else, then you will be fine. Personally I dont think girls should have a “steady” relationship with one person before they are 21. Its just not worth it, and its much more freeing, as well as enlightening, to go out as friends with different guys for a few years.
