My idea is a reality speed-dating show where the men (actors) can only answer questions using old stand-up comedy routines from Woody Allen, Steve Martin, etc. etc. Sample Dialgoue:
Woman Dater: Tell me a little bit around yourself?
Actor: I don’t mean to be a big shot or anything, but I get my drinks half-price. For every one drink you get, I get….two!! (Steve Martin)
I think this could be the biggest thing to happen to television since CHiPS.

pretty promising, but don’t share ideas like that on here. tv networks can steal them!

This guy and I have been emailing back and forth, and I wrote him back last. He hasn’t responded in a day or so. Is it against “the rules” to email him without him emailing me back? I don’t want to seem needy or aggressive, but I do want to talk more with him and find out if we might have a chance.

I dont see the harm in letting someone know you like him. I wouldnt get upset with him about not writting you though. That would seem alittle controlling. But I would let him know you were thinking about him and hoping all is well, and you enjoy his emails or chatting with him. Keep it lite. No pressure.

How early is it too early to have the “exclusive”talk when dating?

I have been dating a guy for maybe a month and a half and he’s great. We both really enjoy each others company. We have already done the deed more than a few times and both have expressed emotions toward eachother.
My conflict: I want to confirm that we are exclusive but somewhere along the line dating has damaged me and I am terrified to bring it up because I am terrified I won’t hear what I want to hear and then thats the end of that. Is a month and a half too early to have “the talk”? When is an appropriate time? Or should I just let everything happen on its own organically without words? Male perspectives welcome!

I usually started talking exclusivity when I was ready to be exclusive… the earliest one should bring it up is after the 3rd date.

It’s safe to bring it up after a month!

Tell him you would like to be exclusive, ask if he feels the same way. It hurts not to hear what we want, but I am assuming you are an adult and I’m sure you can handle a let down.

If your fear keeps you from talking to your partner, then maybe you are not ready for a serious, exclusive relationship. Stop and think about what it is you want and then move on from there.

How to out a speeding ticket in Georgia?

About a month ago I got pulled over for going 71 on a 55 in Georgia. (16 over). I was late getting home one night, sped up to pass someone in the right lane, and crossed over. I just recently got my court date and a fine of 125. I’m going to have to ask to reschedule my court date because I will be away, but I am definitely planning on showing up. This should put two points on my license, but I’ve been driving for a little less than 6 months and want to do everything possible to get those points off. Any suggestions of what to do, or comments of experience?
There’s always the chance of the police officer not showing up, but I’d rather not depend on that.
Someone also told me I can talk to him before we go into court, and he might reduce my speed to 15 mph over. If he did, I wouldn’t have two points put on my license. But, I’m also not sure if I can talk to him before hand.

you will be very lucky to ‘get away’ with this. The police officer WILL turn up and you will be fined…you will, too, almost certainly get the 2 points on your licence.

One thing to try? Say your speedometer is reading a couple of miles per hour under what it should…you MAY get away with the 15 mph and not the 16 mph. May?

However, when you think about it this is not much of a defence, and could get you in deeper trouble with the law. In effect you would be saying ‘Look I know I was speeding, but I thought I was only doing 15 mph over the limit, not 16mph.’

That makes it sound as if you deliberately went over the limit and make a habit of doing it ‘just inside the cut-off’ point for licence points. If you were the judge, how would you feel about someone like that?

I think the best thing to do is accept the fine and the points and when you are in a 55mph limited area do 55mph at the most. NOT 70, 71 or any speed over the posted limit.

You’ll get there almost as quickly (I bet you weren’t early on your trip when you got the citation) and you will get there more safely, as will all the other road users.

Sorry not to be of much help, but then, I wasn’t the one speeding, was I?

Talking to the officer is unlikely to result in a change of his evidence, but if he really likes you you may be successful. (don’t hold your breath!)
