My 61 year old mother is currently dating a 43 year old man. I don’t have a problem with it because the way I see it atleast she is not dating a man that’s younger than me (I am 24) because if she did I would have felt very awkward and uncomfortable.

If it’s true, I don’t think it’s because they’re open minded, but it’s because in Japanese culture, they value youth. A 50 yrs old guy is more likely to go after an 18-30 yrs old woman, if not younger, than a much older women. Okay here is what I think.

To start with take a good long look in the mirror, decide where you rate on attractiveness. If People’s Sexiest Man Alive are 10’s, and a 1 is the Elephant man with 5 just being average where would you rate? This is your leauge. This is the same level you should be looking for in a date. Don’t shoot too high or too low. Most men have a hard time understanding their leauge and shoot too high.

Next ask yourself honestly is there any small changes I could make that would make a woman more interested? Maybe your hair looks oily, or you need to brush your teeth after meals. I don’t know, this is a personal search and everyone has something they could improve on (or many things in my case) that would make things easier.

Now you are ready to start dating, first of all make friends, make friends make friends! Girl friends and guy friends are useful because men can introduce you to ladies you have never met before. To date older woman make older friends.

Join a club or sport to mix and meet people, maybe do something outside of your school. Fencing, dragon boat racing, a running club, cycling, painting, drama, role playing…whatever you are into. This ensures that you meet someone who shares at least one of your interests.

My friend has been with a ton of men who she says are “18 or 19″ and in some cases have said that also but i know that there is no way. She has had sexual relationships with all but one of the 4 men and she is only 16. Is it illegal for older men 20+ to have a sexual relationship with a 16 year old? I’m worried about her and need some tips to get her to stop dating guys who are that much older; she’s dated a guys as old as 26 when she was only 14(there relationship was almost all sex). In NJ, the age of consent is 16; that is, she CAN legally consent to having sex at 16.

If she is under 16 in NJ, it is still legal as long as the boyfriend is less than 4 years older than her. For example, 15 /19, 14/18, and 13 /17 are all acceptable under NJ law.

Before that, it was 14, so if you’re Canadian, it’s not illegal.
