Friend dating my ex girlfriend… Why does it bother me so much?

One of my best friends who i have known for a while, just recently started dating my ex-girlfriend. (we broke up 5 months ago)
He came to me and asked if it was ok (a few days after he hooked up with her) that they started dating because he “really likes this one.”
During our friend ship we made a strict pact to
1) not date friends ex’s
2) friendship with ex’s is acceptable but noting physical

I said that it was fine with me that they started dating but i am disappointed in him for breaking the pact. I told him that “I want them both to be happy” but I actually hate them being together. I know i’m selfish but in a while he’ll be looking for something new and she’ll be heartbroken..
He is now aware of my negative feelings of them being together but believes “that the feelings will pass.” Why can’t i help but think that he’s done this before to others?

Why does it bother me so much.?
Am I being selfish and unreasonable?

i dont think you’re being unreasonable..friends should never go out with a friends ex, ESPECIALLY if yall made a promise with eachother. so i think you’re feelings are completely normal, cuz id be upset too:)
