Dating/Relationships?

I’ve been dating this one guy, but he never officially asked me out to begin with…i didn’t even know we were dating, but he told one of his friends that.
Does this mean we are dating and are a couple?

I’d ask him too.

Creationists, Scientists are using new dating techniques How can they be discredited? Can we use Bible quotes?

Researchers at the University of Leeds have devised a more accurate method of dating ancient human migration – even when no corroborating archaeological evidence exists.
“This means that we can put a timescale on any part of the particular family tree, right back to humanity’s last common maternal ancestor, known as ‘Mitochondrial Eve’, who lived some 200,000 years ago. In fact we can date any migration for which we have available data,” he says.

online dating things to talk about

online dating things to talk about
What do you guys think of online dating?

Ok. When you go on a date in real life, most of the time you’re dating a stranger and you’re trying to get to know a person. When dating online, you talk to them eaither in chat rooms or IM. Then you guys decided to meet up and go on an actual date. A lot of people think that dating online is eaither sick or taboo. I understand that some people lied online about eaither their age or what they look like. But what happened if what they say is the truth? Then when they went on dates and still chat online. They end up getting married and such. People asked them how they meet and they said “We met online.” After they said that, people began to crinch. So is dating online a wrong thing to do? Even if it works out really well? Why is it such a taboo to date online?

Well, the internet is nothing more than access to another way of communication and getting to know people. However, it is also what is associated with the internet that people might be acting that it is taboo. News of liars, pedophiles, rapists, prostitutes, and a bunch of other sort of people bring a negative aura to the online experience. It probably isn’t the taboo of online dating but rather the influence of what else is found online.

Besides, it is still relatively new compared to meeting someone at a bar, and the bar thing is well more acceptable. Just give it time.

is dating a minor illegal?

in this relationship i am 17 years olf and i am going on dates with a guy that is 21. We are not having sex but we are in a romantic relationship. I guess im scared for him because a friend that i trust told me that even if there was no sex in the relationship a guy in minnesota could be sentenced to up to 7 years. I want to know more about this because even tho i trust my friend he is trying to date me

The police don’t go checking I.D. for every couple on the street. If your parents object to your relationship, and want to press charges, he may be in trouble. If you ever get angry with him and press charges, he may be in trouble. Proving sex happened requires reliable witnesses, video tapes, pictures , DNA etc. The charges alone could ruin a mans reputation though. Rape is still defined as sexual contact, though some states have different definitions of that. Let’s say you met him 4 years ago and fell madly in love. When he turned 21, is he supposed to stop dating you till you are of age?

dating too much too soon
Online dating – handling too much too soon?

I have been online dating on and off for about a year. I have a first date with someone this weekend and he is very new to online dating.
We spoke yesterday for the first time for an hour, which might have set the tone for this. Well, we spoke for 30 minutes, then he called back and spoke for another 30 minutes. I like this guy and am looking forward to meeting him, however, based on my past, if there is a TON of communication prior to meeting, well, when you do meet, it kind of fizzles. Now, he is looking to talk every day along with texting. We are not meeting until saturday. I could chalk this up to that he has not done online dating before.
I can appreciate getting to know someone, however, the “too much too soon” is happening. I have been guilty of it too, but I would rather not talk to this guy before we meet. Not playing a game, just don’t need to know everything. How do I tell him that we don’t really need to talk anymore, prior to meeting. Without being rude or cold?

personally ive done the online dating thing myself…..and i am aware of the too much too soon angle…..but honestly ive come to realize that you don’t have to necessarily cut him off until you meet….

of course you can the whole avoiding thing before you see him all the “ill call you back” or “im busy call me tomorrow” and things like that….

but at the same time you also have the right to control the conversation….be secretive…..men love a good mystery…..”i’d rather not speak about that yet” or “ill answer that when i see you” 15 minutes a day until you see him is fine….

keep it simple….how was your day, mine was good/bad/interesting/etc…….simple things like that to where you don’t have to worry about the too much too soon thing….

then again you do have wishes, and he does have to respect those…..if he can’t respect your wishes then he probably doesnt need to be affiliated with you in that matter anyhow….

one other thing i’d like to point out is that online dating works to an extent but its definately better to just meet people in social environments and do the dating thing there…..

i wish you well

online dating guidelines

online dating guidelines
Is it possible to find true love online or is it just plan desperate?

what are some guidelines to dating online?

It’s possible. Look…here’s the thing about dating online. It is just a medium for communication. That is it. It doesn’t replace actually meeting the person in real life. Relationships can only really form when you are actually physically together. It’s a great tool…and I emphasize tool…for getting initial contact with lots of people. Just like at the bar, or at school, or anywhere else….and just like you can’t hold the relationship entirely in the bar or in the school…you can’t limit the relationship to just on the internet either. It takes moving outside of that initial contact space. That seems like it would be obvious, but the classic image of an internet “relationship” is someone who has been “dating” thier significant other for a week..or a month…or whatever…and they haven’t even met in real life. I got a good friend of mine who met someone on the internet….they already have thier marriage planned out and she hasn’t even met this guy in real life yet. That’s bad. I hate to tell her, but I don’t see that turning into a successful marriage. Don’t be like that.

So I guess in summary, as long as you treat it like 1) just a way to make an initial contact and 2) just a medium for communication and 3) as a tool to assist, NOT replace, traditional dating…then it will be fine. Not desperate at all. I’ve actually had quite a bit of success with it.
