Would you approve of your child dating someone from a different race or ethnic background?

So many people want to say racism is officially wiped out now that we have elected our first dark-skinned president. I wish that were the case. I do think it is a huge step in the right direction. However, I believe this question is the true test of people’s acceptance of other cultures.
Jane: I can kind of understand desiring to preserve one’s heritage, but is that more important than allowing your child to find love with the person they choose (regardless of race)? Would you rather your child be happy in love or keep your blood line clean?

Well I’m only 13 but I know my parents would never approve of me dating someone who’s not white.
