What is your opinion of a 17 year old guy dating a 14 year old girl?

I’m a freshman and I’m 14, I’m dating a guy that is 17 and turning 18 soon. My mom absolutely hates it and says all guys that age want to do is pressure you into having sex. we’ve been dating for a month and he hasn’t tried anything anyway. How do you feel about this?

If I was your mother I would not allow it either.

I’m not old enough to be your mom and I’m young enough to clearly remember how 17 year old boys act. Yes, most of them are all about sex, sex SEX. Just because he hasn’t tried anything yet doesn’t mean he’s not going to.

Granted, you’re in high school and he is too (senior?, junior?) but I think that 14 is so very young. (no offense)

Keep in mind, once he turns 18 it would be ILLEGAL for the two of you to have sex, if you chose to do so. And the consequences for him could possibly ruin his entire life.
